After two years of waiting and my parents getting me a car instead of booking Aj Rafael for my 18th birthday, I finally got to see him. I often get starstruck when I get the opportunity to meet an artist or anyone well known. (Ex. When I made a fool of myself in front of Meg & Dia saying run-on sentences that didn't make sense, or at least it did in my mind.) Luckily with him and his band members I felt relaxed and was able to have small talk with them, especially with Andrew Rhim and Noah Bartfield. I didn't get to meet Shiori because she had to leave right after the show. But hopefully the next time they perform as a band in NY or another close state I will.
The whole Let It Rock 2009 show was pretty good, I enjoyed it all. Jay Legaspi is beast! Allison and I had small talk with him after the show and learned that he went to college to become a diplomat but chose music over it haha. Pretty good choice Jay, though it would've been interesting to hear about the diplomat who's tying to bring about world peace through music :). Magentic North was pretty good, I'm not really all into the rap scene but seeing and listening to them live was entertaining. We had a small convo with them too after the show and learned that they lived in Queens, NY which is pretty cool.
The funny thing about yesterday is that I came there 3 hours early thinking it's like all the other shows I go too. Obviously I thought wrong so I sat in the sitting park area near 9th ave. for about an hour and a half and walked around the blocks for the other remaining hour and a half. Talk about exercise! But all that was needed, I'm pretty out of shape. Oh! I also learned from all that time outside that my hair could wit stand the wind. Pretty cool right? Yeah I thought so too. I enjoy it when people stare at my hair, it makes me feel special. I swear there was this girl at the show that kept passing by me to steal glances at my hair. She had a pretty nice cut too, with some red on the sides and such.
So with all hope I'll be able to go to California this summer to go to FAP. Another chance at watching Aj and hopefully I'll get to meet everyone on that show. I got the opportunity last year to watch and meet Passion :). It'll be cool to meet Cathy, Gabe, Lydia, Krismark, Renabette, The Adrian William Project (which reminds me, is OVID still together?), Alyssa and Leejay. Oh gosh the money spend and my willingness to watch the music I love. Also I'm going to the dance competition that Team Millenia put up, this time it's in NY. Last year I couldn't go and missed the opportunity to meet Melissa Reyes. Hopefully I'll get to meet Wobz, I love her hair!
Pictures and my video of singing with Aj after the show is posted on my facebook.
